D3 Publisher has announced the release of Custom Mech Wars, a game that allows players to control customizable mechs in a 3rd person perspective. The game will be available for PS5 and PC and is set to be released worldwide during the winter season of this year. Players will also have the opportunity to try out the game at Tokyo Game Show 2023, which will be held from September 21st to 24th in Shibuya, Japan.
One of the highlights of the game is the extensive mech customization feature, known as the Omega Customization System. This system allows players to freely customize various parts of their mechs, including the head, arms, legs, and even transform them into different forms, such as animals or other objects. (The game trailer showcases a mech that resembles a hamburger).
As for the gameplay, Custom Mech Wars is a 3rd person shooter that requires players to complete missions and collect various components to enhance their mechs. The game also features online co-op mode, allowing up to 4 players to play together in the story mode.
While the concept may seem similar to the recently released Armored Core VI, Custom Mech Wars focuses more on nurturing the imaginative dreams of young anime mech enthusiasts, rather than being a challenging game like Armored Core. In this aspect, the game can be seen as a Game Breaker, offering a wider range of customization options for mechs.
