Ampere Analysis, a market analysis website, reveals that Epic Games has become the top game distributor on consoles (specifically PlayStation and Xbox), surpassing EA Games in terms of monthly players in December. This growth is attributed to the significant increase in Fortnite players, which saw a staggering 146% growth in November and an additional 9% in December.
Furthermore, Ampere Analysis also reveals that the number of Fortnite players in December surpasses the combined player count of Call of Duty HQ (Modern Warfare 2-3 and Warzone), EA Sports FC, GTA Online, and Roblox in the same month. It’s worth noting that Fortnite alone has accumulated over 1.6 billion gameplay hours.
In the same month, Epic Games also released three new games under the Fortnite franchise, namely LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival, offering players a variety of gaming experiences.
