Decline in Daily Twitter/X User Base by 174 Million, X Indicates Presence of 250 Million Individuals

Sensor Tower reported a decline in Twitter/X users in the United States during February 2024, with a decrease of 18% compared to the same period last year, leaving approximately 27 million daily active users.

The overall social media usage in the United States over the past 12 months (from February 2023 to February 2024) has seen a decrease across the board, with Twitter taking the biggest hit at 27%. TikTok saw a reduction of around 9.5%, Instagram decreased by 4.4%, Snapchat by 1.7%, and Facebook by 0.6%.

Looking at the global user statistics, Twitter/X has around 174 million daily users, reflecting a 15% decrease, considered a trend that has been consistent almost every month since Elon Musk acquired Twitter.

However, Twitter/X responded to these figures through the @XData account, stating that there are 250 million daily users globally and a monthly user count of 550 million.
