Tencent has revealed that they are currently testing the implementation of the DeepSeek artificial intelligence model to enhance the internal data search system within the Weixin or WeChat app in China. They have introduced an AI Search button as an option for users, in addition to the existing Hunyuan model.
According to a Tencent representative, these changes will affect only the app within China, while the international version of WeChat has not yet integrated the DeepSeek capability.
Apart from Weixin, Tencent has also incorporated the DeepSeek model into their Yuanbao chatbot app.
DeepSeek has become a significant focus for internet service providers in China, with Alibaba, Huawei, and Baidu all announcing the inclusion of the DeepSeek model in their services. Even major mobile network providers in China such as China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom have incorporated DeepSeek into their apps.
