Deliveroo’s Food Delivery Platform in the UK Receives Acquisition Offer from DoorDash

Deliveroo, a food delivery platform based in the United Kingdom, has revealed that the company has received a full acquisition offer from DoorDash, a delivery platform from the United States, valued at £2.7 billion (or $3.6 billion).

In the next step, shareholders of Deliveroo will have to vote on whether to accept this offer. The Deliveroo board has recommended accepting the offer, prompting DoorDash to provide detailed explanations to shareholders by May 23. During this period, Deliveroo will not be able to entertain acquisition offers from other companies.

The news of Deliveroo’s potential acquisition by DoorDash surfaced last year, as Deliveroo had just announced its withdrawal from the Hong Kong market after giving up its stake to KeeTa.
