Disney+ embarks on global subscription revenue initiative by expanding account acquisition strategy across multiple territories.

Disney+ has begun sending notifications to users sharing accounts with others who are not in the same household, informing them that the option to share accounts for an additional fee is now available. Previously, Disney+ confirmed plans to crack down on password sharing and increase prices for services in the United States.

Moving forward, accounts with users in different households will have to pay an extra fee for shared account usage. This service is now available in certain markets such as the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

In the United States, users will have to pay an additional $6.99-9.99 per month for each extra user per main account and they can transfer viewing history. Users who use Disney+ outside their main household can still use the service normally but will have to choose between continuing to use it outside or updating to a new primary device.
