Dreamhaven, Founded by Blizzard’s Creators, Debuts Wildgate, Lynked, and Mechabellum Games

Dreamhaven, the brainchild of Mike Morhaime, co-founder and former CEO of Blizzard, emerged in 2020 with its debut game “Sunderfolk,” developed by the studio under its umbrella, Secret Door.

Recently, Dreamhaven unveiled three new games simultaneously, consisting of one self-developed title and two games from other studios.

The first game, “Wildgate,” is being crafted by another subsidiary studio called Moonshot Games. It is a team-based first-person shooter mixed with vehicular combat, requiring players to collaborate in piloting different sections of a spacecraft in a sci-fi setting. The vibrant cartoon-style graphics have drawn comparisons to Sea of Thieves in space. Gameplay involves teams of four competing against five other teams in randomly generated scenarios, each striving to accumulate resources, solve mysteries, and vie for the single Artifact in each scene. Scheduled for release in 2025, “Wildgate” will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

As for “Sunderfolk,” a tactical RPG resembling tabletop gameplay on screen, developed by Secret Door, it has been announced to launch on April 23, 2025, across PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

“Linked: Banner of the Spark,” an action-packed blend of exploration and resource gathering, created by the external studio FuzzyBot, has already been in Early Access and is set to officially release on May 22, 2025, on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Lastly, “Mechabellum,” a turn-based strategy game set in a realistic robot-themed world, developed by the external Game River studio from China, has previously been available on Steam. Dreamhaven’s involvement as a distributor aims to enhance its visibility and appeal to a broader audience.

The Dreamhaven management team reveals that their interest in “Mechabellum” stemmed from recommendations within the StarCraft community. Despite the game’s limited exposure and only a single published review, with a remarkable 90/100 rating, Dreamhaven saw potential in catering to the discerning RTS gaming enthusiasts. – VentureBeat
