Microsoft elevates file search features in Windows Search with AI-powered capabilities to search for images and documents based on keyword descriptions. For example, searching for “BBQ party” will yield images related to barbecue without the need for specific file names or keywords.
Users of Google Photos or modern image storage services are likely familiar with this type of search functionality, but now Windows 11 has achieved it through the power of NPU in the PC’s Copilot+. This new feature can even interpret objects within images.
This feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs and will begin testing soon. It can be accessed both in File Explorer and the Windows Search Box.
TLDR: Microsoft introduces AI-powered image search capabilities in Windows Search, enabling users to find files based on keyword descriptions without the need for specific file names or keywords.
