SK Hynix reported its Q4 2024 results, marking the highest annual revenue in the company’s history. Specifically, in Q4, total revenue reached 19.7670 trillion won, a 12% increase from the same quarter the previous year, with operating profit at 8.0828 trillion won, reflecting a 41% operating profit margin and a net profit of 8.0065 trillion won.
The strong growth in performance can be attributed to the increasing demand for memory products for AI applications, particularly HBM products, which have significantly boosted the company’s profit margins and account for up to 40% of the DRAM and eSSD product group revenue.
SK Hynix anticipates continued growth in the demand for high-capacity HBM and DRAM for servers, driven by the company’s growing investments in AI technology. Additionally, the general consumer market is expected to see growth in AI chips for PCs and smartphones in the latter half of this year.
In terms of production plans, the company is gearing up to increase HBM3E production and develop HBM4 to meet customer demand. As demand rises, the advanced production technology will also be applied to other products such as DDR5 and LPDDR5.
