Elon Musk Withdraws Lawsuit Against OpenAI and Two Co-Founders

Elon Musk has withdrawn his lawsuit against OpenAI, with co-founders Sam Altman as CEO and Gregory Brockman as board chairman. Initially, he alleged contract violations for seeking profits. The court was scheduled to review the lawsuit on Wednesday, a legal expert noted it might be a tough case since Musk’s cited contract breaches lacked specifics or mutual agreement signatures.

Musk was a founding member of OpenAI in 2015, aiming to research General AI for the benefit and safety of humanity. He stepped down in 2018 to avoid conflicts of interest with Tesla’s AI development. OpenAI later restructured to include profit-seeking entities for research funding, attracting significant investment from Microsoft.

Currently, Elon Musk’s AI development company, xAI, recently secured a $6 billion Series B investment.

TLDR: Elon Musk retracts lawsuit against OpenAI, focusing on his own AI company xAI with a significant investment.
