Eminent Game Developer Expresses Desire to Launch FF16 on Xbox, Encourages Fans to Preserve Hope, Prefers FF3 Remake above All.

After Final Fantasy 16’s PC version was released on September 17, 2024, the next question is whether there will be an Xbox version. Yoshi-P, also known as Naoki Yoshida, the producer of FF16, stated in an interview with Sport Illustrated that “we” want to release this game on Xbox, but currently cannot confirm when the game will be out. What he can say is that there is a hope for an Xbox version, not a zero possibility. We hope to make this happen successfully and urge fans not to give up hope.

Yoshi-P has shown a friendly attitude towards the Xbox platform, especially after releasing Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox. In a previous interview, he mentioned that games in the future will more likely be released on Xbox. In this interview, Yoshi-P also talked about mini-games in various Final Fantasy installments, expressing his love for snowboarding in FF7 the most as he enjoys real-life snowboarding. If given the chance, he would like to remake FF3, but acknowledges the strong demand from fans to remake FF9 significantly.

As for the future of Final Fantasy 14, he mentioned his aim to expand the player base as much as possible, support the maximum number of devices, and maintain a two-year gap between each upcoming DLC to provide enough time for developing quality content for players.

TLDR: Final Fantasy 16’s producer expresses the desire for an Xbox version but cannot confirm the release date. He hints at a potential remake of FF3 and acknowledges fan demands for a significant FF9 remake, while also discussing the future plans for Final Fantasy 14 in expanding the player base and maintaining a two-year gap between DLC releases for content development.
