Enhanced Deal: Apple-Google’s Deployment of Gemini Technology onto iPhone – Initial Insights – Engaging with Other AI Companies

According to a previous Bloomberg report, Apple is currently negotiating with Google and other AI developers to incorporate Generative AI, or content generating AI, into the latest iPhone. The New York Times has also confirmed this news from its own sources, stating that Apple is indeed in talks with Google.

Citing sources from three parties, The New York Times reports that the negotiations between the two parties are still in the early stages, with no specific details of the agreement outlined yet. At the same time, Apple is also in discussions with other AI companies with the aim of utilizing large language models (LLM) to facilitate learning and content creation on the iPhone.

Initially, Apple had developed its own LLM, but it has fallen behind competitors such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Collaborating with Google helps Apple bridge the gap it is currently facing. Meanwhile, Google has the opportunity to expand its Gemini services directly to users, as a way to compete against OpenAI from potentially accessing iPhone users. This deal benefits both parties in a mutually advantageous manner.
