Enhanced Entertainment Experience: Volkswagen Introduces In-Car Gaming System Using Smartphone as Controller during Idle Times.

Volkswagen has announced a collaboration with N-Dream, a company from Switzerland, to allow Volkswagen cars to play games (while parked) using a mobile phone as a controller. The game platform created by N-Dream called AirConsole (web-based) offers casual games like puzzle, football, and racing games that can be played on various devices through a browser and TV box. The standout feature is the convenience of using smartphones as controllers without requiring any additional equipment. Upgrading to the paid AirConsole Hero allows access to more popular games.

AirConsole had previously partnered with BMW, supporting BMW and Mini cars from 2023 onwards. Volkswagen now becomes the second car brand to sign an agreement with AirConsole. The car models set to feature this function include Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer, ID.7, ID.5, ID.4, ID.3, new Passat, new Tiguan, new Golf, and new Golf Estate.

In the gaming industry, competitors like Tesla had initially supported gaming on Steam Linux version in cars (controllers not provided), but later removed this feature.

TLDR: Volkswagen teams up with N-Dream to introduce game playing capability in its cars using smartphones as controllers through the AirConsole gaming platform. This feature will be available in various Volkswagen models, following a similar collaboration with BMW in the past.
