Google has rolled out an update for the Google TV operating system, coinciding with the launch of the Google TV Streamer today (September 24). This update brings features of Google TV on various smart TV models in line with the Google TV Streamer.
The feature allows control of smart home devices via Google Home directly from the TV screen, such as adjusting speaker volume or viewing clips from front door cameras.
Gemini offers TV recommendations, summarizing the content of each show in short text for quick browsing.
AI power assists in creating customizable screensavers when the screen is idle or can be used with Google Assistant to display memories from Google Photos.
Enhanced sports section in the “For You” tab provides information on ongoing sports matches and upcoming broadcasts.
Google TV Freeplay service adds around 150 free TV channels (in the United States).
In Google’s clip, it is specified that Google TV will be updated on TV brands like Sony, Philips, Hisense, and TCL.
