Minecraft showcases the Vibrant Visuals graphics upgrade that enhances lighting, reflections in water, light passing through windows and trees, clouds, and smoke to make the visuals look more realistic and stunning (recommended to watch a clip to see clearer images).
In 2017, Minecraft attempted to create this feature called Super Duper, but eventually canceled it in 2019 citing overly complex technical limitations. However, the idea persisted and has returned with Vibrant Visuals this time around. The development team stated that researching and refining the code extensively was necessary to prepare for this graphics upgrade.
Vibrant Visuals is merely a cosmetic upgrade, with no impact on gameplay, supporting backward compatibility, allowing players using Vibrant Visuals to play seamlessly with those who are not.
Initially, Vibrant Visuals will be available for Bedrock Edition clients, although it has not been disclosed which devices will be supported (the development team is striving to make it as widely compatible as possible). Java Edition will follow suit in the near future.
TLDR: Minecraft introduces Vibrant Visuals, a graphics upgrade enhancing the game’s visuals without affecting gameplay, allowing for cross-play compatibility between players. Available first for Bedrock Edition with future plans for Java Edition.
