Enhanced Graphics Revamp for macOS Sequoia’s Checkers Game elevates realism to new heights.

Small tweaks have been made to macOS Sequoia, the new operating system version unveiled at WWDC24 last week. The classic game of chess, a staple on Mac for quite some time, has received upgrades in graphics.

Changes include a more modern-looking graphics, improved background scenes, and added realism to the pieces and board with enhanced lighting. The Grass background option has been removed, leaving only Wood, Marble, and Metal.

Chess has been a part of Mac for a long time, dating back to the NeXTSTEP operating system that Apple developed into Mac OS X. The game was last updated in OS X Mountain Lion in 2012 to support Game Center.
