Enhanced Summary Card in Gmail Update Introduces Additional Command Options

Users of Gmail may be familiar with the Summary Card feature, which summarizes important things in emails such as receipts, invoices, restaurant reservation confirmations, or travel confirmations. This feature is displayed at the top of the email content to connect users with other Google services. Gmail has enhanced the capabilities of the Summary Card.

The new Summary Card has added action buttons for users to manage various tasks as needed. For example, for appointment emails, besides adding them to the calendar, users can also forward invites to others. And for invoice emails, they can set payment due date reminders, and so on.

This new Summary Card provides more detailed information with 4 types of action buttons in emails: for purchased items, it shows the latest delivery status, for events, users can add them to the calendar or send invitations, for invoices, they can set payment reminders, and for travel emails, they can set travel dates and hotel check-out dates.

Gmail has also added a new section called “Happening soon” in the app to notify users of upcoming events based on email content.

The new Summary Card is being updated for users of both Android and iOS apps. Those who do not wish to use this feature can opt-out as per the provided details.

TLDR: Gmail introduces a new Summary Card feature with action buttons for managing various tasks in emails, providing more detailed information and the option to opt-out for those who do not wish to use it.
