Enhancing Android Security: Google Introduces Auto-Reboot Feature upon 3-day Lockout

Google has updated Google Play services version 25.14 for Android users, with changes related to security and privacy. One feature mentioned is that the device will automatically restart if it has been locked for 3 consecutive days.

Google has not provided further details, but this feature has been reported in iOS 18.1 for iPhone. Security researchers explain that the self-reboot is to return the device to a BFU (Before First Unlock) state, where all data is encrypted. If the device has been unlocked before, it will be in an AFU (After First Unlock) state, where some data is accessible for convenience. This timeframe is set to 72 hours or 3 days, similar to the Google Play service update.
