Enhancing Efficiency: Microsoft Office Introduces Startup Boost Feature for Preloading Apps in Advance

Microsoft has announced the introduction of Startup Boost feature to enhance the performance of applications within the Office suite. Office Startup Boost is a service that runs when users log in, initiated by Windows Task Scheduler to preload and optimize the performance of Office suite applications in advance.

This feature will not be enabled by default and users will need to manually activate it from the Settings page. Initially, it only supports Word and requires a PC with sufficient resources: a minimum of 8GB of free RAM, 5GB of available storage, and not operating in Energy Saver mode.

Office Startup Boost is set to be rolled out for users to utilize starting in May 2025.

TLDR: Microsoft introduces Startup Boost feature to improve Office applications’ performance, requiring manual activation and specific system requirements. Scheduled for release in May 2025.
