Google has announced the rollout of new AI-powered image editing features on Google Photos, previously limited to Pixel users or those subscribed to Google One, to all users including free users. These new features include Magic Eraser to remove unwanted parts of a picture, Photo Unblur to fix blurry images, and Portrait light to enhance facial lighting.
The eligibility criteria for using these Google Photos features include having a Chromebook Plus with ChromeOS version 118 or higher, an Android device running on Android 8.0 or higher with at least 3GB of RAM, or an iOS device with iOS 15 or higher. Additionally, the Magic Editor feature, originally available only on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will now be extended to all Pixel users and Google Photos users on other devices (iOS and Android) with a limit of 10 photos per month unless they switch to a Pixel device or subscribe to the highest-tier Premium Google One package (2TB storage).
These features will begin rolling out to all users starting from May 15th.
TLDR: Google Photos introduces new AI-powered image editing features for all users, including Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Portrait light, with eligibility criteria based on device specifications.
