Enhancing Knowledge with Lamini’s Memory Tuning Technique, Leaving LLM Informed Without a Hint of Bewilderment.

Lamini, a company specializing in artificial intelligence platforms like LLM, introduces a technique for customizing AI models called Lamini Memory Tuning (LMT). It claims to reduce hallucinations in LLM AI models by up to 95%.

Previously, reducing hallucinations in LLM relied on referencing data from various trustworthy sources. For instance, organizations could have their own datasets and use relevant data to address queries, known as Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG). While this technique increases accuracy, it has limitations due to incomplete data retrieval processes.

The approach of LMT suggests integrating knowledge into LLM by fine-tuning LoRA models. What sets LMT apart is its training of millions of expert models with specialized expertise in different subjects, referred to as memory experts. When users ask real questions, relevant experts are summoned to generate final answers, known as the Mixture of Memory Experts (MoME) architecture.

Lamini’s report does not disclose the precise testing methods. However, it provides three customer examples:

– Text-to-SQL Converter: Customers with extensive databases and system-specific names can train models to achieve 95% accuracy, up from 50% using RAG.
– Document Categorization System: Successfully categorizing a vast amount of documents into approximately 900 categories with 100% accuracy.
– Product Recommendation System: With a real database of 50,000 products, accurately recommending products with 88% precision.

Although Lamini’s results are promising, the company has not shared experimental code for external replication. Confirmation of the effectiveness of the MoME architecture may require external validation, as this approach may extend beyond Lamini’s proposed user interface limitations.

TLDR: Lamini introduces Lamini Memory Tuning (LMT) to reduce hallucinations in AI models by 95%, utilizing the Mixture of Memory Experts (MoME) architecture. Experiments and validation of these methods may require external scrutiny beyond Lamini’s provided framework.
