Enhancing Screen Capturing with Advanced Sketching and Shape Drawing Functions on Snipping Tools, Augmenting Collaborative Capabilities for Coding on Notepad

Microsoft has recently updated two of its applications in Windows 11 Insider. The Snipping Tool now includes the feature of adding shapes directly onto the screen capture, such as circles, rectangles, straight lines, and arrows. This eliminates the need for users to edit their screenshots in other applications.

Another updated app is Notepad, which now features Copilot integration. Called “Explain with Copilot” (Ctrl+E), this feature allows Copilot to provide explanations for selected text. It essentially involves copying the desired text and pasting it into Copilot’s sidebar.

Both of these apps are currently available for testing exclusively to the Windows Insider Dev and Canary groups.

TLDR: The latest updates in Windows 11 Insider include an enhanced Snipping Tool with the ability to add shapes directly onto screen captures and Notepad with Copilot integration for text explanations. These updates are currently being tested by the Windows Insider Dev and Canary groups.
