Epic Games Store for iOS Approved by Apple in Europe

Epic Games recently unveiled to the public that their Epic Games Store app for users in Europe has been submitted for approval by Apple to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in Europe. Despite multiple rejections by Apple, citing similarities between the “Install” button and the “Get” button in the App Store, the recent disclosure seems to have worked in their favor as Apple has now approved the Epic Games Store.

Epic has confirmed that Apple has accepted their previous submission for the Epic Games Store after addressing the issue with the Install button. However, Apple pointed out developer guidelines 2.3 (G) which prohibits developers from creating buttons in the store that resemble those in the App Store, prompting Epic to make necessary adjustments.

Furthermore, Epic has also received approval from Apple for Fortnite to be downloaded through the Epic Games Store. The development is a positive step forward for Epic Games and their efforts to expand their reach on iOS devices.

TLDR: Epic Games Store app for iOS approved by Apple after addressing button issues, with Fortnite also obtaining approval for download through the Epic Games Store.
