Apple has unveiled the new 7th generation iPad mini last night, prompting speculation about what Apple might omit from the box this time. In recent times, Apple has been diligent in removing included accessories from the box, such as the charger and headphones in the iPhone 12, as well as not providing a charging cable with the AirPods 4. Most recently, Apple stickers were absent from the iPhone packaging.
Customers in Thailand will still receive the charger and charging cable in the box as usual, but customers in Europe will not be so fortunate. Information from Apple’s European websites such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom reveals that the iPad mini will no longer come with a charger in the box, aligning with the European Union’s directive to reduce electronic waste by 2026. Apple had already ceased including the charger with the iPad models in Europe since the introduction of the iPad Pro and the new iPad Air.
