The European Commission, also known as EC, has officially requested additional information from two e-commerce platforms, Temu and Shein, under the Digital Services Act (DSA). They are required to clarify whether the platforms have complied with the DSA regulations.
EC’s inquiries focus on the notification and resolution process for incorrect products and preventing customers from being presented with unsuitable product offerings. Both platforms must submit reports on their supervision of these issues to EC by July 12th.
Both Temu and Shein qualify as Very Large Online Platforms (VLOP) in the EU, which entails additional requirements for managing inappropriate content and disclosing supervision methods for customers in the European region.
