Evaluation of Damages in Case of System Collapse Due to CrowdStrike – Insurance Company Estimates Loss at 2 Trillion Baht

Parametrix Insurance Company assesses the damages from the global IT system meltdown caused by CrowdStrike, specifically targeting large Fortune 500 companies, excluding Microsoft. The estimated value of the damages is around $5.4 trillion or nearly 200 billion baht.

Large companies impacted by CrowdStrike span across various industries such as airlines, banks, hospitals, among others. Parametrix identifies hospitals as the hardest-hit industry with $1.938 trillion, followed by banks at $1.149 trillion, while major airlines giants in the Fortune 500 group are estimated to have suffered losses of approximately $860 million.

The value of insurance claims (typically ranging from 10-20% of the total damage value as not all companies are insured) is projected to be around $540-1,008 million.
