Exclusion of Twitter for Mac from the App Store: X Branded App with Nearly a Year of No Updates

The Twitter for Mac app, a Twitter version for Mac that is an official app, has been removed from the Apple App Store. It is questionable why this app was just taken out of the store, especially since Twitter rebranded to X since last year, yet this app still exists and even uses the name Twitter.

Twitter (at that time) announced the discontinuation of development and support for Twitter for Mac since 2018, but then had a change of heart and brought it back with updates periodically after Apple launched the Catalyst project to allow iOS apps to be ported to macOS.

Twitter for Mac is the only app that has not been rebranded as X, and the app itself has not received any updates for almost a year, leading to its eventual removal from the App Store.

TLDR: Twitter for Mac, the official Twitter app for Mac, has been removed from the App Store. Despite Twitter’s rebranding to X, this app remained stagnant without updates for nearly a year, prompting its removal from the store.
