Exempting Data Transfer Fees: AWS Waives Charges for Data Migration from Singapore to Thailand

AWS has announced a waiver of fees for transferring workloads from Singapore (ap-southeast-1) or Malaysia (ap-southeast-5) to Thailand, subject to approval on a case-by-case basis. To avail of this complimentary data migration service, customers must notify their desired transfer schedule at least 30 days in advance and specify the amount of data to be moved. Upon approval, they will receive credits for a one-way data transfer (not applicable for sending data from Thailand to Singapore).

Having commenced operations in Thailand earlier this year, AWS offers services at generally lower costs compared to Singapore. The reduction in data migration fees is expected to simplify decision-making for many organizations.
