Expansive Device Extension by Samsung: Galaxy AI Spreads Across Various Models, A Hundred Million Units Distributed in H1 & Yearend.

Following last night’s Unpacked event, Roh Tae-woon, the CEO of Samsung’s mobile division, was interviewed about the Galaxy AI feature. He revealed that the update for this feature will initially be available only on the Galaxy S24 within the first half of this year. Throughout the year, Samsung plans to release updates for other models, with a target of approximately 100 million devices. However, specific details regarding which models will receive these updates have not been disclosed.

Mr. Tae-woon also discussed the potential revenue generation from AI. Currently, Samsung has no plans to monetize the AI feature, but this could change as the feature becomes more complex and requires more investment.

When it comes to competing against Apple’s App Store sales, Mr. Roh expressed confidence that the S24 will surpass the sales of the S23, thanks to its AI capabilities. It is worth noting that the overall smartphone market has not been performing exceptionally well recently. However, the premium smartphone market continues to show steady growth.

TLDR: Samsung’s CEO, Roh Tae-woon, announced that the Galaxy AI feature will be initially available on the Galaxy S24, with updates planned for other models throughout the year. While Samsung has no current plans to monetize AI, future developments may require further investment. Mr. Tae-woon believes that the S24 will outperform its predecessor, the S23, in terms of sales, despite the challenging overall smartphone market.
