AppleInsider reports on the AI features that will be included in the upcoming iOS 18 and macOS 15 operating systems, set to be unveiled by Apple at the WWDC event in June. The software is currently in internal testing phase.
One of the features that has been revealed is the Intelligent Search button in Safari 18, which summarizes key topics and keywords from web page content, processed on the device (On-device). Another feature is the Web Eraser, allowing Safari to remove specified content display such as ad banners, images, website sections, or other designated elements.
The AI component summarizing content in Safari utilizes LLM developed in-house, previously known as Ajax, which has the ability for on-device processing by separating input components. This capability is expected to be expanded for use in other app functions like Message.
Additionally, there is information on another AI feature named Visual Lookup that can provide details from images seen, going beyond Siri in Photos which can currently identify categories within images. This feature is projected to be available for use at its fastest in 2025.
