Instagram now has a Teen Account feature designed for users under the age of 18, introduced back in 2024. This feature has recently expanded to Facebook and Messenger as well.
The Teen Account function on Facebook and Messenger offers limited access to unfamiliar individuals and inappropriate content, similar to the restrictions found on Instagram. On Instagram itself, they have added features such as limiting Live usage until the age of 16 and a blurred image feature in direct messages to prevent others from sending explicit photos.
According to Meta, since the introduction of the Teen Account, there are now at least 54 million active accounts, although the service has not been made available to users in every country yet.
