Last week, Jonathan Nolan, the producer and director of the upcoming Fallout TV series on Prime Video, gave an interview stating that the series could be likened to Fallout 5 that you can’t play. Recently, Todd Howard, the director of the Fallout games since part 3, spoke to Den of Geek revealing that the TV series is not Fallout 5 as Jonathan suggested. He explained that the game has its own direction while some ideas that the series team wanted to explore were vetoed by Todd and his team to be saved for Fallout 5.
On the other hand, writer Graham Wagner humorously mentioned that the TV series feels more like they have created Fallout 6 and know everything about Fallout 5 but won’t reveal anything more than that. Fallout 5 has not been officially announced yet, with Todd Howard hinting that it may be a while before fans get to see it, as the team is currently working on Starfield and the next game from Bethesda, The Elder Scrolls VI. Todd also hinted that Fallout 5 may be the last game he directs, while other games in the Fallout series, such as the Next Gen version of Fallout 4, are in development and recently announced with updates slated for the end of this past year.
