Farewell SCEA Beloved PlayStation Turned Digital Doll by Jim Ryan for Retirement Collection

In March 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment celebrated Jim Ryan’s departure from the CEO position with the release of the “Digital Jim Ryan Bobblehead” for collection in the PlayStation Star rewards system, launched in 2022. Gamers aiming to add Jim Ryan to their figurine collection must play games released during Ryan’s tenure as CEO, including Gran Turismo 7, Marvel’s Spider-man 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Destiny 2. The campaign messages also extend well wishes for Ryan’s retirement happiness.

Having been a cornerstone of Sony Interactive Entertainment for 30 years, Jim Ryan’s legacy dates back to the PS1 era. Despite some controversial decisions towards the end of his tenure, including layoffs and studio closures, his departure marks the end of an era. Following Ryan’s exit, Sony will appoint Hiroki Totoki, current CFO of Sony Corporation, as the temporary CEO of SIE while the search for a new CEO is underway.
