Threads announces support for connecting to the Fediverse network. Currently in beta and testing only in the US, Canada, and Japan, this enables Threads users to post or view cross-platform likes on Fediverse platforms like Mastodon.
Previously previewed by Meta, additional conditions for connecting include having a public account. There are currently limitations such as not being able to view replies or cross-platform followers. Deleting a post in Threads may not delete it on other platforms as well.
Of course, CEO Mark Zuckerberg is also participating in testing cross-platform posts.

TLDR: Threads now supports connecting to the Fediverse network in beta for select countries, allowing users to interact across platforms like Mastodon. Limitations include not viewing replies or cross-platform followers, and posts may not be deleted across all platforms. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is among those testing these features.
