Sony reported its fourth-quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2023, ending in March 2024, with a total revenue of 2.811 trillion yen, an increase of 9% compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The company also recorded a net profit of 1.69 trillion yen.
The majority of the revenue growth came from Sony’s financial services business, while the gaming business saw a slight increase of 2% to 1.097 trillion yen. Sales of the PS5 in the past quarter rose by 4.5 million units, with software sales reaching 72.6 million units. The sensor camera business experienced a 14% increase to 3.985 trillion yen.
The music business revenue grew by 23% to 4.3 trillion yen, and the film business saw a revenue increase of 13% to 4.07 trillion yen.
