First-ever Trial of Disaster Warning System via Cell Broadcast Restricted to Administrative Center Regions in 5 Provinces.

Today, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has initiated the testing of the emergency alert system via Cell Broadcast for the first time. This testing covers a small radius of 2 kilometers from specified locations in 5 provinces, including the provincial halls of Chiang Rai, Suphan Buri, Ubon Ratchathani, Songkhla, and the government center in Chaeng Watthana, Buildings A and B.

The testing commenced at 13:00 hours and the notification is a distinct alert sound that cannot be muted. The alert message will remain on the screen for a duration of 10 minutes.

DDPM will conduct the next Cell Broadcast notification test on Wednesday, 7th May 2568 at 13:00 hours on a medium scale level in district-wide areas of 5 provinces, namely, Mueang Lampang, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, Mueang Nakhon Sawan, Mueang Surat Thani, and Din Daeng district in Bangkok.
