Foreign Operators Collaborate with AIS to Develop Open API for User Verification of Registered Apps and Phone Numbers.

AIS has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singtel and Maxis, operators from Singapore and Malaysia respectively. This collaboration aims to implement Open API for verifying user identities during transactions via apps, using registered identities with the operators through phone numbers, to prevent fraud and scams.

AIS Open API has been certified by GSMA to allow app developers in various industries such as banking, financial services, e-commerce, and online gaming to perform Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) through the Number Verification API or check if transactions are coming from a device that has recently changed SIM cards through the SIM Swap API. Both services are now available for use.
