Fujitsu Announces Withdrawal from ATM Business Due to Declining Cash Usage Among Consumers

Fujitsu has announced the discontinuation of ATM manufacturing around the year 2030, after being in this business since 1977. The rationale behind this decision is the declining usage of cash.

Fujitsu operates in various financial equipment sectors, including ATMs, cash deposit machines, cash counting machines, and terminals for bank officials. Despite other companies like NCR, Diebold Nixdorf, Hitachi, and Oki also manufacturing ATMs, there is a clear trend of decreasing users due to the increasing popularity of electronic payment systems.

TLDR: Fujitsu will cease ATM production by 2030 due to reduced cash usage, despite its longstanding presence in the financial equipment industry.
