Futuristic Combat: Elon Musk Takes On Co-Founder of Facebook/Asana Who Accuses Tesla of Fudging FSD Stats

Over the past 3-4 days, a new dispute has arisen between Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk and newcomer Dustin Moskovitz, the co-founder of Facebook who later went on to start his own company, Asana.

The issue began in early April when Dustin raised questions in the Threads app about graphs displayed by Tesla showing customer usage of the Full Self Driving (FSD) system. He found the graphs suspicious, suggesting they may have been manipulated to exaggerate the growth in mileage, possibly to support Tesla’s announcement about launching a driverless taxi service.

On April 24, during Tesla’s quarterly earnings call, another FSD graph was presented, claiming over a billion miles of FSD usage. Dustin pointed out inconsistencies with previous graphs, accusing Tesla of falsifying data to boost stock prices, likening it to the Enron scandal. He warned that if Tesla continues this practice, legal consequences could follow for deceiving consumers.

Dustin’s posts caught the attention of media outlets and a Twitter user named @WholeMarsBlog, leading Elon to respond by calling Dustin a derogatory term. After facing backlash, Elon issued a public apology, although he still referred to Dustin as a “pompous idiot” and continued with more insults in subsequent tweets.

Dustin chose not to engage in a public response to Elon’s attacks, and both companies’ spokespeople declined to comment on the matter.

TLDR: Elon Musk and Dustin Moskovitz got into a public feud over allegations of data manipulation by Tesla, leading to insults and apologies on Twitter. Both parties have not publicly addressed the issue further.
