Gang Invades Home, Holds Victims at Gunpoint, Robs Cryptocurrency in US, Sentenced to Prison, Mastermind Gets 47-Year Sentence

The FBI reported on the sentencing of a group of criminals targeting cryptocurrency theft, who relied on home invasions to steal money. The court sentenced Remy St Felix, the mastermind, to 47 years in prison, ordered to pay $524,153.39 in restitution to victims, and placed under 5 years of post-release supervision.

Remy’s accomplices received sentences ranging from 5 to 20 years. Jarod Gabriel Seemungal, responsible for money laundering by coercing victims to disclose wallet codes, was sentenced to 20 years and ordered to return over $4 million stolen.

This gang exhibited various behaviors to successfully carry out cryptocurrency theft, from common methods like SIM-swap for phone number theft, hacking emails, to home invasions and kidnapping.
