Google introduced the Smart Reply feature to Gmail back in 2017. However, in the past, the AI-recommended responses were only short, typically 1-2 sentences long.
In the era of the Gemini zodiac sign, Google has enhanced Smart Reply to be more intelligent. It can now craft lengthy responses spanning multiple paragraphs. All we need to do is click the Reply button in Gmail, and Gemini will compose a reply email for us to choose from approximately 3 versions. Our only task is to select the preferred response and send it immediately, without having to type a single word (though editing is always an option if desired). This feature is known as contextual Smart Reply.
This feature is now available for Google Workspace business customers with Gemini, as well as for general customers who have purchased the Google One AI Premium package.
