Gemini Model by Google Adopted in Opera, Utilizing Diverse Models from Various Companies

Opera has announced the integration of Google Cloud’s Gemini model with its Aria AI feature in the Opera One web browser. The introduction of AI features in the browser has been ongoing since mid-2023, utilizing a variety of LLM models from different companies and allowing users to choose the most suitable model from over 50 families and 150 sub-versions (including OpenAI’s GPT model that has been around since its inception).

Prior to this, Opera had been using models to generate images with Imagen 2 and to convert text into speech with Google Cloud’s Wavenet model. Gemini will now step in to enhance the summarization feature or assist in composing text aptly named Compose.

TLDR: Opera integrates Google Cloud’s Gemini model with Aria AI in Opera One browser, offering a range of AI models for users to choose from for various functions.
