Global Audience of Over 60 Million Households Tune in for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight, Setting Netflix’s Record High

Netflix has announced that the viewership statistics for the live boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have exceeded 60 million households worldwide, with a peak concurrent viewership of 65 million households. Meanwhile, during the Serrano vs. Taylor 2 match, there were 50 million household views.

According to Netflix, the 60 million household viewership is the highest ever for a live broadcast on the platform, while Serrano vs. Taylor 2 holds the record for the most-watched female boxing match in U.S. television history.

However, during the live broadcast in the early hours of Saturday in Thailand, there were reports of significant issues with accessing Netflix, mainly in the United States. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg interviewed Netflix CTO Elizabeth Stone, who confirmed the issues and stated that this event has highlighted areas for improvement in live streaming for Netflix.

The highest recorded streaming sports viewership statistics previously belonged to the ICC World Cup cricket match last year, with 59 million viewers on Hotstar. This record was surpassed once again in a cricket match in June and just days ago this year.
