Google Cloud Next ’25 has revealed that Google is allowing customers to run Gemini models outside of Google’s own cloud. Organizations that require running models in their own on-premise data centers (such as government agencies or military organizations concerned about data sovereignty) can now run Gemini through Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) services.
Google has offered Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) since 2021, but previously it was limited to general cloud services. For complex AI model runs that require specialized hardware, Google has partnered with NVIDIA and Dell to provide servers DGX B200 and HGX B200 for customers in need.
In addition to Gemini, Google has also announced the release of the internal organizational data search service Agentspace on GDC. Both services will begin preview testing in the third quarter.
TLDR: Google introduces Gemini model running outside its cloud, partners with NVIDIA and Dell for specialized hardware, and offers internal data search service Agentspace on GDC.
