Google has announced a collaboration with OpenStax, Rice University’s free textbook project, enabling users to ask various questions via Gemini by specifying their need for information from OpenStax.
Currently, OpenStax offers over 70 textbooks covering subjects ranging from high school to university level.
Google’s partnership aims to demonstrate Gemini’s educational utility, such as creating Gems for lesson instruction or summarizing content by uploading entire documents to Gemini.
OpenStax restricts Gemini users in the United States, aged over 18, and must mention @OpenStax directly. However, inquiries to OpenStax can still receive responses from other sources as well, without being strictly limited.
