At the Made by Google event today, Google unveiled several new features in the Pixel 9 lineup, leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities. These include Pixel Studio, Pixel Screenshots, and Call Notes.
Pixel Studio is an app that creates images from texts using models on the phone and Imagen 3 on the cloud. It can be used to create custom stickers for chat conversations.
On the other hand, Pixel Screenshots is an app for viewing all images to search and inquire about previously taken screenshots. For example if someone captures a hotel room key password, the app will automatically name the image, create a summary message, and suggest possible actions like scheduling an appointment in the calendar or searching for the location on Maps.
Call Notes, on the other hand, invites AI to assist in recording conversations and converting them into text, along with a summary of the conversation stored for later retrieval in the call log. The AI model operates solely on the phone and notifies everyone on the call that recording is in progress, requiring a minimum of 30 seconds of conversation.
These features are exclusive to Pixel devices and may be limited to certain countries, with specific details yet to be announced.
