One of the persistent issues we often encounter is taking group photos with members missing. We take turns holding the camera to capture 2-3 shots, only to find someone absent in the final picture.
At the Pixel 9 unveiling event, Google showcased a new camera mode called “Add Me,” utilizing AI to solve the group photo dilemma. This mode tackles the problem of incomplete group shots, where members are not all present in the frame. Instead of swapping in and out to take photos or asking others to take pictures, “Add Me” mode divides the process into 2 steps. The first person takes a group photo, followed by another member switching out to snap another picture. These photos are then merged to include all members in a single frame, with the initial image fading to guide placement smoothly.
The “Add Me” mode is exclusive to the Pixel 9 and it remains unclear if it will be added to previous Pixel models.
