Google is consolidating its LLM services, which previously went by various names such as Bard and Duet AI, under the name Gemini. Along with this rebranding, they have released the Gemini app exclusively for Android and added Gemini features to the Google app on iOS.
The LLM service on Google Workspace will now be called Gemini for Workspace, and the Duet AI service on Google Cloud will also be rebranded as Gemini, just like the Bard service.
In addition to the specific app additions, Android users can also access Gemini through Google Assistant. Currently, the app is only available for English-speaking users in the United States. Expansion to other countries will follow, but initially, it will be limited to English, Japanese, and Korean languages before expanding to other supported languages.
TLDR: Google is consolidating its LLM services under the name Gemini and releasing the Gemini app for Android. The services on Google Workspace and Google Cloud will also be rebranded as Gemini. The app is currently available only for English-speaking users in the United States and will expand to other languages in the future.
