Google has unveiled a new music composition model called Lyria, which allows users to generate music from text prompts. The model will be powered by Vertex AI in the near future.
In terms of Lyria’s capabilities, it may not differ from other music composition models (experts will need to verify), but Google’s selling point is having models for creating all types of media: from Gemini (text), Imagen 3 (images), Veo 2 (videos), Chirp 3 (audio), to the latest addition Lyria (music).
With all models available on Vertex AI, Google is well-equipped to be a leader in creative cloud services. At Google Cloud Next ’25, Google showcased major brand agency clients such as WPP, Agoda, Bending Spoons, L’Oreal, and Kraft Heinz utilizing these models.
