From Android 14 QPR1, users can view battery information such as battery production date and charging cycles, which were released in the December Pixel Feature Drop update.
However, in the latest Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2, Android Authority, a news website about Android, discovered a new option in the System Setting menu called Battery Health, which is similar to the battery health feature on iPhones.
But upon tapping into this menu, there is now a sentence that states “batteries degrade over time and last fewer hours between charges,” but it does not display any battery health information.
The text within the app mentions that the Battery Health page will display the approximate percentage of the current battery performance compared to when it was first used after calibration. However, the details of this calibration process are not clear yet, except for a mention that the process may take about 2-3 weeks, which might imply that the device needs to gather data over a period of time to accurately assess the battery capacity. In the meantime, the starting battery health value is based on test results, so the battery health may differ from the actual battery status.
Additionally, icons corresponding to “battery capacity reduction,” “battery calibration,” and “battery capacity not found” were found, along with tips for users when the battery capacity decreases or cannot be detected, which eliminates the need for users to personally check the Battery Health page every time.
Finally, Android Authority also discovered that Google is developing the operating system to provide additional information about the battery, such as the serial number and the status of 3 components (UNSUPPORTED, ORIGINAL, and REPLACED), which is expected to be used with the new version of Health HAL.
Health HAL is a software responsible for connecting the operating system APIs that read battery/charging information with the software that controls the battery/charging chip. In Android 14, the Health HAL version 2.0 is used with Android 14 APIs to display Battery Information, which is why this feature is not available on many Android devices currently.

TLDR: Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 introduces Battery Health feature similar to iPhones, but it lacks battery health information. The feature displays battery performance percentage compared to the initial usage after calibration, but the calibration process is not clear. Icons indicating battery capacity reduction and calibration, along with helpful tips, are present. Google is also developing additional battery information, such as serial numbers and component statuses, for use with the new version of Health HAL.
